Obituary of Elber Maiden
Elber “Al” Maiden, a lifelong Lake County, Illinois resident passed away Friday, June 25, 2021 at Lake Forest Hospital surrounded by his family. Al was born August 26, 1949 in Waukegan, Illinois. Al was preceded in death by his parents Elber J. and Emily L Maiden, his sisters Marilyn Fredrickson and Margie Victor. He is survived by his sister Marsha (Ray) Newell, his wife Sue of 41 years, three children Bryan Maiden, Casie (Troy) Cooper and David (Cheryl) Maiden. He also leaves behind his 9 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Al was a huge part of the growth and development of Lake County over the last 5 decades working as a village planner and developer for several Lake County communities as a member of Rolf C. Campbell and Associates as well as Manhard Consulting. He also volunteered for many years with the Area 2 Agency on Aging and the Fremont (Mundelein) Library Board.
A Celebration of Life is being held in his honor at McMurrough Funeral Home, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville, Illinois on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Friends and family along with acquaintances are all welcome. Anyone wishing to share a memory of Al we are asking for an open floor at 7:30pm for anyone who wishes to speak.
