Obituary of Peter L Vinciguerra

Dr. Peter L. Vinciguerra, Longtime Libertyville resident, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in Scottsdale, Arizona after a brief illness. Dr. Vinciguerra was born in Ascoli Piceno, Italy and grew up in Chicago. He attended Northwestern University and was a graduate of the University of Illinois Medical School. Specializing in general and thoracic surgery, Dr. Vinciguerra practiced medicine in Libertyville for over three decades and was on the surgical staff of Condell Memorial Hospital in Libertyville, where he served as Chief of Surgery, and St. Therese Medical Center in Waukegan. Dr. Vinciguerra is survived by four of his five children: Mary Ann Calo of Manlius, New York; Mark Vinciguerra of Scottsdale, Arizona; Paul Vinciguerra of Auburn, California and David Vinciguerra of Greenville, North Carolina. He also had twelve grandchildren who knew him affectionately as “Papa Pete.” He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Rose Vinciguerra who passed away in 2007 and his oldest son Peter C. Vinciguerra who passed away in 2012. Visitation for Dr. Vinciguerra will be held at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place (Rt 176, 1 Block East of Milwaukee Ave) Libertyville on Wednesday, October 28 from 12-1:30 pm.
