Obituary of Marijo Komp

Marijo Komp, nee Harrington, was taken by the hand of the Lord to a quieter and gentler place on May 3, 2014. She was born in Chicago. On April 8, 1967 she married the love of her life, James Komp. They raised their family in Libertyville. She was a parishioner at St. Joseph Church for 38 years. She was a warm, caring individual whose generosity knew no bounds. She always made people feel good about themselves. She was a ray of sunshine where ever she went. She focused her life on her family and friends. Marijo was an avid hobbyist. She would master one hobby and then go on to learn another. Two that remained with her for her whole life were reading and cooking. She loved to share a precious book with a friend. When she became too ill to cook alone, Jim would assist. She truly enjoyed those moments. Marijo is survived by her loving husband, Jim, of 47 years; their daughter Stephanie (Cris) Lewis; their son Steve (Wilda nee Martel); and three granddaughters, Jessica and Ashley Komp and Christine Taylor Lewis. She is also survived by one brother Michael (Dawn) Harrington, two nephews, Sean and Kyle, and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Phyllis Harrington. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday May 9 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville. Interment following at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00-8:00 pm and Friday 9:15-9:45 am at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville (Rt 176, 1 Block East of Milwaukee Ave).
