Obituary of Ed Roycroft

Ed Roycroft, widower, b1932, d2014. The fourth in a line of thirteen children of Irish immigrants, he exemplified America's promise for hard work and civic engagement. After serving in the U.S. navy, he, together with Mary, his wife of 39 years, became one of the founding families of Vernon Hills, IL and contributed to building a community of friends, family, and faith. After 35 years as a union, Journeyman plumber, he retired and enjoyed travel and watching his nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren thrive. He was much loved and is survived by his four children, Debra, Charles, Kelly, and Kerry.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 11 from 4- 8 pm at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville (Rt. 176, 1 Block East of Milwaukee Ave). Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 11 am at Santa Maria del Popolo main church, 116 N Lake St., Mundelein.
