Obituary of Rose M. Berry
Rose M. Berry, 61, nee Schwoerer, passed away Sat. Dec. 24, 2022 at home surrounded by her family after a very brief battle with cancer. Rose was a Libertyville High School Graduate and proud member of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps color guard. She loved to travel and some of her favorite trips were to Thailand, where she rode with the elephants, enjoyed the culture of Eastern Asia, and had a special fondness for Singapore. She dedicated herself to her work as a medical receptionist in Libertyville and shared her entrepreneurial spirit to operate her own successful business, the “Teachers Market,” in Waukegan and later Zion. She had a remarkable ability to see the best in others and saw treasure wherever she went. She made time for those in need and found joy as a teaching assistant in Mundelein High School’s special education department. Rose was a woman of strong faith and would happily discuss the bible with anyone. She was a member of the St. Charbel Prayer Group and spent some time as a eucharistic minister. Rose also taught religious education at St. Dismas in Waukegan. She loved being a caregiver to her daughter Elizabeth and was later involved in the care for her aging mother, Liz. Rose had unstoppable energy and was always on the go. In despite of her full schedule, she was incredibly generous and would make time for anyone. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend and will be dearly missed.
Rose is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey of 35 years; her dearest daughter Elizabeth (Morgan) Klipp; her cherished parents Elizabeth and Frederick Schwoerer and siblings Ronald, Margaret, Michael, Annette (Charles) Udell, Angela and Anton Schwoerer; and her adoring nieces and nephews Emily, Nicholas, Eliann, and Maximillian.
