Obituary of Raymond A Beitzel
Raymond A. Beitzel, 95, WWII Army veteran, a life-long resident of Libertyville, passed away June 16, 2022 in Libertyville. Ray was born in Libertyville and held a Libertyville address his whole life. He graduated from St. Joseph School and was a lifelong St. Joseph Parishioner. Ray dedicated 35 years to Frank G. Hough Company/International Harvester. He was active in his children’s lives and enjoyed being their Boy Scout Troop Leader. He was a master repairman and passed on his talents to his children. Ray felt truly blessed to have a large family and he shared his joy with every kid he met.
He is survived his beloved children Gail (Wayde) Akers, Cheryl Anderson, Gwen (Gerry) Aquino, Alan (Roslyn) Beitzel, Jean (Les) Bratton, and Karen (Don) Baldino and was the proud grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 14.
Ray was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joan of 73 years, his loving son Joseph (Ann) Beitzel, his cherished grandchildren Joseph Beitzel Jr.and Jennifer Anderson, and his dear siblings Mary Hallgren, Francis Beitzel, Jim Beitzel, Bill Beitzel, John Beitzel and Robert Beitzel.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Friday June 24th at St. Joseph Parish, 121 East Maple Libertyville with interment following at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation will be Thursday June 23 from 4 - 8 PM at McMurrough Funeral Chapel 101 Park Place. If desired memorial donations made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
