Obituary of Marlene A Blake
Marlene A. Blake, 88, longtime Mundelein resident, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2022 surrounded by family. Marlene was the proud mother of 7 and earned her nickname as the “Neighborhood Mom” of High St in Mundelein. She handled the chaos of a full house with a constant calming demeanor. She was talented in the kitchen as could create a meal for an army with any ingredients she had on hand. Marlene was Our Saint and she will be dearly missed.
Marlene was survived by her loving children; James, Randall, Patrick (Kathy), Lorene (Ben Hough), Donna, Brian (Mike) Cap deVille and Robert; her dearest grandchildren; Nicholas, Jennifer, Emily, Tressa (Keith) Woosley, Mandy (Mike) Stebbins, Ashley (Clark); her cherished great-grandchildren Kenny, Casey, Emry and Lyla; and her much loved nieces Deirdre (Arthur) Rosenberg and Claudia (Steve) Paterson. She was preceded in death by her husband James, her sister Janet Fistel and her niece Lisa Brunette and nephew Leslie Fistel.
Visitation for Marlene will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Tuesday May 17th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday May 18th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville. Private interment will be at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, Niles.
