Obituary of Jerry J Thier

Jerry J Thier, 85, of Grayslake, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2022, after a wonderful family gathering. Jerry was a daily reader of the newspaper obituaries, and he finally found his way into the paper. Jerry was born in Chicago and was an accomplished accountant for the Chicagoland banks retiring from LaSalle Bank. His love of the city never left him even in retirement. He enjoyed a good cup of coffee, something sweet, and a stiff Manhattan. But his greatest joy was the 50 years he was married to the love of his life Ruthann. He cherished their travels together exploring the world, especially cruising the Mediterranean.   He was a wonderful dad and grandpa, he will be dearly missed.

Jerry is survived by his children Lisa and Chris (Andrea); and his grandchildren Joseph, Benjamin and Samantha. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruthann and his twin brother Jim.

Visitation for Jerry will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2nd at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville. Followed by a funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Mary of the Annunciation, 22333 W Erhart Rd, Mundelein, IL 60060. Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Fremont Center.
