Obituary of Pat Kirk

James “Pat” Kirk, 91, of Libertyville, passed away Feb 5, 2022. Pat graduated from Mt. Carmel High School where he played the clarinet in the marching band and carried his love of music throughout his life; he loved to share that passion with his family. After graduating from Loyola University, Pat served his country in the Korean War followed by a long successful career in sales. Outside of work he loved everything Chicago sports, especially his Northwestern Wildcat Football and DePaul Blue Demon Basketball teams for which he was a proud season ticket holder. Pat was a true people person and was known for his great storytelling abilities. He was a pro at telling jokes, knowing when to let the punch line fall. He was a giver; he would be the first to volunteer to help anyone in need. He was a lifelong devoted Catholic and longtime member of St. Joseph Parish. His greatest love in his life was his family; he was extremely proud of his 11 grandchildren.  He was very kind and gentle spirit who will be dearly missed by all who crossed his path.

Pat is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Carol; his cherished children Patrick (Mary), Kathy (the late Christopher) Seidel, Beth (John) Ahlgrim and his dearest grandchildren Margaret and Caroline; Chris (Leah), Joe, Matt, and Andy (Rachel); Katie (Adam), Meg, Julie, Britt (RJ) and Grace. He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Azelda; his sisters Helen and Marie; and his Uncle George.

Visitation for Pat will be Wednesday Feb 9th from 4:00-8:00 pm at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville. Funeral Mass will be Thursday Feb 10th at 10:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, memorials made to St. Joseph Church would be greatly appreciated.
