Obituary of Rita Anne Finnerty

Rita Anne Finnerty, 89, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 6, 2021. She was a 43-year resident of Libertyville, Illinois before spending her later years at The Springs at Monarch Landing in Naperville, Illinois. Rita was born November 13, 1931 in Carroll, Iowa before relocating and growing up in St. Paul, Minnesota with her mother (Leona Conroy, 1973) and two brothers (John, Michigan and Jim, 2018).

On June 12, 1955, Rita married William Lyle Finnerty to whom she was a beloved wife until his passing in 1992. Throughout her time in Libertyville, Rita was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In addition, she was a dedicated employee of Hallmark Cards before joining Hollister Corporation where she spent over 10 years.

She is survived by her four children James William (Diane) of Cleveland, Ohio; Anne Marie (Joseph) Camilleri, of Wappinger Falls, New York; John Andrew (Karen) of Aurora, Illinois and Lisa Marie Finnerty of Wappinger Falls. She is loved and will be dearly missed by her ten grandchildren Gina, William (Bill), Jennifer, Erin, Kaitlyn, Amanda, Shannon, Megan, Brian, and Sean.

Funeral Mass 10:30AM Thursday, November 11, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple Ave., Libertyville, IL. Visitation Thursday from 9:15-10AM at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl., Libertyville, IL. Entombment will be at Ascension Catholic Cemetery.
