Obituary of Norman J Becker
Norman J Becker, 80, of Long Grove, passed away October 14, 2021 peacefully at his home with his family by his side. Norman was born in Chicago and was a professional Lithographer for over 35 years. In his free time, he treasured piloting his single-engine plane, boating on Lake Geneva and dabbling in model trains. Norman enjoyed traveling with his wife Sharon, whether motor coaching throughout the United States or their many international adventures. He was a man of faith and served as a Minister of Care for many years with the Saint Mary of Vernon Parish, bringing the Eucharist to those in the hospital or those confined to their homes by illness. He was a man full of love and will be dearly missed.
Norman is survived by his loving wife Sharon of 57 years; he was the uncle of Susan (Johnny) Hendrix, Duane Leuser, Ross (RoseMary) Adams Jr., Michael (René) Drogos; the great-uncle to Jacqueline (Matt) Hrgich, Morgan Leuser, Katherine Adams and Jack Adams; and great-great-uncle to Riley Hrgich
Visitation for Norman will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday October 22nd at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville and on Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30am on October 23rd at St. Mary of Vernon, 236 US Hwy 45, Indian Creek, IL 60061. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10:30am on October 23rd at St. Mary of Vernon, 236 US Hwy 45, Indian Creek, IL 60061. Interment to follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the American Cancer Society, 1 E Wacker Dr., Suite 1500, Chicago, IL 60601 would be greatly appreciated.
