They had 5 children and moved to Libertyville in the early 1960’s. While raising the 5 children she volunteered at St. Joe’s in Libertyville, at both the school and church. She was a member of the St. Joe’s Guild. She became a Girl Scout leader for her daughters before going to work at Condell Medical

Truly retired in 2012 due to limitations from Parkinsons. She went onto enjoy many happy times with her family and friends. Playing canasta and going places with friends. Treating each of her grandchildren to their own special day when it was their birthday. She loved to go walking at Lake Geneva and Independence Grove. Even when her Parkinson's got worse she continued to do multiple walks a day in her neighborhood with her walker.
