Obituary of Wolfgang Allen

Wolfgang “Jim” Allen, 76, longtime Libertyville resident, died Feb 25, 2021.  Born in Germany in 1945, his family moved to the United States at a young age. From an early age Jim found his calling as a butcher. Jim owned and operated the Town Meat Market in downtown Libertyville for many decades until retirement. He loved getting to know everyone in town and remembered each customer by their regular order. He is remembered for his kindness and will be dearly missed.

Jim is survived by his loving wife Lynn of 50 years; cherished son Josh (Shanna); his adoring grandchildren Owen Warwick and Jackson Allen; his dearest brother Glenn (Kathy) Allen and 6 nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer (Howard) Warwick and his sisters Susan Allen and Margaret Hamm.

Funeral service will be 3:00PM Saturday March 6 at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville (Rt 176, one block East of Milwaukee Ave.) with visitation from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
