After a long battle with dementia, made more difficult by hearing and vision loss, my mom slipped away peacefully overnight. She and my dad were married for 60 years, though they lived apart the last couple of years after she moved into memory care. Sadly I was not allowed to see her for most of the last year of her life because of covid restrictions, but my Dad got to see her frequently in memory care and spent time by her side yesterday. For those wondering, she did test positive for covid in late December but was completely asymptomatic, so it’s hard to know if that hastened her passing. She left a fabulous legacy with all the beautiful quilts she created (over 100), and her grandchildren will never forget her enthusiastic hugs and “baci”, or her phenomenal spaghetti sauce and meatballs. We love you Grandma, Rest In Peace.❤️
