Obituary of Quirina Nuqui Wilkins
Please share a memory of Quirina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, Quirina Nuqui Wilkins, lovingly known as Lola Tet to her loved ones or Charlie to her friends, passed away at the age of 94. Quirina was born on March 30, 1926 in Angeles City, Philippines. She was the daughter of Santiago Nuqui and Fausta Canlapan, and sister to Josefina Bernardo, Amos Nuqui, and Salome Gran. Quirina worked at Clark Air Force Base in Angeles City, and that is where she met her husband, John Wilkins. They married in 1956 and relocated to the United States. Quirina and John moved numerous times throughout the United States, but settled in Park City, Illinois. Although they never had children, Quirina was like a mother to her many nieces and nephews and a wonderful grandmother to all her grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was a dedicated wife, avid sports fan, and a voracious reader. Quirina will be remembered for her sharp mind, clever wit, compassionate heart, generous love, and most importantly, her love for Jesus.--
Visitation for Quirina will be from 9am to noon Monday December 28th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville. A private service for the family will be at noon. Followed by interment at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Libertyville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/donate would be greatly appreciated.
