Irene E. Rowan, 101, passed into eternal rest May 26, 2013. Lifelong Chicago resident, she worked 35 years at Il. Bell as a long distance telephone operator.
The beloved wife of the late Edwin J Connelly Sr. (Chicago fireman) and the late John Rowan. Devoted mother of Sr. Arlene A. Connelly IBVM, Edwin "Bud" J. Connelly Jr., Sharon M. (John) Hancir and Thomas J. Connelly; loving grandmother of Michele (the late Joseph) Bauer, Michael (Alicia) Connelly, Brian J. (Sherry) Connelly, John M. (Roseanne) Hancir, Patrick J. (Dr. Monica Zaucha) Hancir, Phillip (Stacy) DerKacy, and Catherine Swainbank; and cherished great-grandmother of 11.
Funeral Mass, Thursday 11:30AM at Church of St. Mary, 175 E Illinois Rd, Lake Forest. Visitation, Thursday 10:00 - 11:00AM at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville (Rt 176, one block East of Milwaukee Ave) Private interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
