Our hearts go out to family and friends of Pam. Although we knew her only during her nursing-home stay, we came to cherish her optimism and sense of gratitude. She loved flowers, Pepsi, milkshakes and Sunday carry-in coffee. Her happiness was contagious when we went out for pizza or steak. But even trips to doctors were special because she got outside and kind strangers spoke to her. Lately, most of our time was spent bedside, by her favorite Posey Bed, sharing stories and just being together. Pam was a loyal friend to other residents, especially Lucy and Tessie. She loved her cnas, Diana and Betty. She was a good listener and always asked about our family members. Pam's parting words were usually "Thank you, thank you" and "wonderful." Huntington's Disease could not dim her spirit. She lived each moment with courage and grace. She was a shining example to all of us. We will miss her smile forever.
