So sad to learn of her passing. She was one of, if not my favorite teacher I ever had at Fraser High School. I was very sad to learn she was leaving our school. She truly was my favorite math teacher I ever had. My sincere condolences to her family.

Dear Jim and Jonathan, I am so shocked and saddened to hear of Debbie's death. I know she is not suffering any more, and is in a much better place. She is interceding before the throne of God for all of us, too. Know that you are in my daily prayers as you continue to mourn her passing. It isn't always easy to give our loved ones back to God, especially at her young age. To me, 60 is young! I will always remember the great friendship we developed over such a short time, as I gave her piano lessons which she so enjoyed. Her strong faith in God concerning her illness and her future were such a sign of great strength to me. I'm sure you saw that strength in her, too. May it continue to be a source of strength for you both now as you try to go on with life. I'm sure you'll always feel her presence with you daily. Continue to live on with a strong faith!
With love, sympathy, and prayers,
Sister Philomene

Aunt Debbie... words cannot describe this terrible terrible loss. I know you were fighting the good fight during your struggles with cancer, but I'd like to think that you're the one that won! No longer will you live in torment, no longer will a disease hold you back! You found your wings and I know your soaring through the clouds! You are truly missed but let us keep you in mind body and spirt so that you may protect us and guide us with your wisdom. There won't be a day that goes by where someone won't think of your kind soul, as you've touched so many lives and inspired all of us. You will forever be missed but never forgotten! So fly on butterfly ! FLY ON.......

Jim, Jonathan, Jack and Jackie,
I was a high school friend of Debbie and have very fond memories of our auditorium days and Higginbottom trips. I remember our near disastrous boat trip to Cedar Point, when we ran out of gas and had to float to Canada; our scary flight to Mackinaw Island with Jim as the pilot. She and I swore we wouldn't get back on that plane, but we did. We spent an innocent night together terrified when the Higginbottoms dragged us to visit some people in Tennessee and the woman of the house had severe night terrors. She was a fantastic Dolly with a smile and confidence I will always remember
Although our lives went in different directions, I knew about her as a Facebook friend. She was always a confident and competent woman, who accomplished so much. I know something about being a CHRP participant and team members, so I know she was a person of faith who shared her journey with others on the retreat. I'm guessing she has as strong relationship with the other CHRP women. I celebrate her courage and pray that you all find comfort and strength.
I am so glad she and Jim found each other and know their love and pride in Jonathan.
Wish I could have made the trip to be there.

I am truly saddened by the recent passing of Debbie. She was an outstanding teacher and administrator. She helped us in the athletic department a great deal. She was well respected and a good friend to all of us in D128. So sad. My condolences Jim to you and your families.

Dear Larson Family,
I am so sorry for you loss. I knew Deb since she was the assistant principal at Vernon Hills High School. She was such a nice person, willing to help whenever needed. She really wanted to do what was best for students and to help us teachers reach our students as best as possible. She truly made an impact at Vernon Hills High School and District 128.
She will be missed.
I will pray for your family through these very difficult times.
Sincerely,
John Pagani

Deb, you interviewed me for a position 17 years ago at D128 and I will never forget your kindness and encouragement. The fact that you, too, were a Michigander made our conversation easy. I am sorry that your physical journey here on Earth has ended, but your spiritual journey has now been completed. May your family find comfort in sharing memories of you.
