Robert "Bob" Michael Strezewski, husband to Mary Rose Strezewski, father to Michael (Anna) and James (Nina), and grandfather of 4 (Nicole, John, Sarah, and Andrew), passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2016. Bob was known for his many passions and unique traits that included reading books from his personal, extensive library, American Civil War history, arguing with TV news, eggs and bacon (a lot of bacon), rehashing antiquated jokes, telling engaging stories, and adding mounds of salt to all food types. He was a highly accomplished accordion player and a devout, lifelong Cubs fan (lucky enough to witness their World Series win). Probably most of all, he will be remembered for his love of teaching. He taught English at St. Viator High School for 41 years before retiring. God bless, go Cubs, and know that your friends and family will miss you dearly.
Visitation for Bob will be 4-8 pm Tues. Jan 3rd at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl (Rt 176, 1 Blk East of Milwaukee Ave) Libertyville. Funeral Mass 10 am Wed. Jan 4th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville. Interment Maryhill Catholic Cemetery.
