Joseph M Puclik, 95, WWII, of Libertyville, passed away December 3, 2016. Joe was born in Czechoslovakia and immigrated early in life to American staying in the Chicago area. He enlisted with the US Army when he was 21 and proudly served our country in Europe during WWII receiving the Silver Star for valor in combat. Joe went on to have a successful 40+ year career with US Steel retiring as foreman. He was a dedicated Chicago Bears fan through their many ups and downs. Joe was a man who selflessly gave to his country, company and family and will be dearly missed.
Joe is survived by his three children Linda (the late Patrick) Kelly, Nancy (Keith) Hutchinson and Mark (Becky) Puclik; his five grandchildren Tracy (Ricky) Hawkins, Christopher Kelly, Michael Hutchinson, Kristen Hutchinson and Katlyn (Kyle) Puclik-Baker; his two great-grandchildren Johnny and Alissa; and his siblings Sylvester and Robert. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary (2012) and his brothers Fred and Erv.
Visitation for Joe will be Wed. Dec. 7th from 6 – 8 pm at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl (Rt 176, 1 Blk East of Milwaukee Ave) Libertyville. Funeral Mass 10 am Dec 8th at St. Joseph Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville. Interment with military honors at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City.
