John G. Johnson, 78, passed away on November 10, 2016 at his home in Grayslake, IL. Mr. Johnson was born on November 14, 1937 in Bend, OR. He served in the U.S. Army with the 10th Mountain Division. John retired from AT&T in 1987 and was the recipient of the Theodore N. Vail award from Illinois Bell for bravery in public service. John loved all things sports and was an avid golfer.
John is survived by his wife, Terry, two daughters; Julee (Kyle) MacGibbon and Joan (Ted) Prillaman, and his three grandchildren; Alex, Rachel and Jake Prillaman.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church, 429 Brainerd Ave, Libertyville, IL, Friday November 25, 2016 with military honors following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to the Northern Illinois Food Bank or the United Methodist Church of Libertyville. Arrangements by McMurrough Funeral Chapel (847) 362-2626.
