Obituary of Arlene M. Jacobsen

Arlene M. Jacobsen, nee Kurowski, 84, of Libertyville, passed away July 30, 2016 at her home. Arlene was born in Libertyville, graduated both Rockland grade school and Libertyville High School and was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Parish. She had been employed at the Great Lakes Naval Station and had recently retired from Six Flags (Marriott) Great America after 37 years of service. Arlene is survived by her sons Greg (the late Jeannine) and Chris; her grandchildren Jessica (Jason O’Connell) Jacobsen, Josh, Jackie and Jason Jacobsen; her sisters Charlotte (Frank) Zakrzewski and Joanne Hall; her brothers John (Kay) Kurowski and Jim (Lori) Kurowski and her beloved great-granddaughter Cailin Arlene. She was preceded in death by her husband Rance “Jake”, her son Jeffrey and her brother Chester (Gloria) Kurowski. Funeral Mass will be 10 am Sat. Aug. 13 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville. Visitation Friday Aug. 12 from 4 – 8 pm at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl (Rt 176, 1 Blk East of Milwaukee Ave) Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, a college education fund for Cailin Arlene O’Connell has been established in memory of Arlene “GG” Jacobsen.
