Just wanted to say that I was so sorry to hear about your mom. I wanted to make it today with my sister Mary, but was unable. Thinking of all of you today, as I remember when we went through this when we lost my dad. Good, Great memories of the old neighborhood. What great times we all had, great parents, my heart is with you all, Sally, Tony, Cookie, Betsey, Kris, and Scott. Your mom was such a great lady.

To the Kidwell family:
I will always remember your mom’s laugh; so heartwarming and friendly. I have fond memories of my mom telling me how she met Jane Kidwell.
Somehow, when I was two years old, I escaped from our backyard, which was a couple blocks away from the Kidwell household. My mom was walking down the street looking for me, calling my name. Your mom had found me aimlessly wondering around the neighborhood lost (some things never change). She yelled out to my mother that she had found me and this set the stage of a friendship between our mothers that lasted for decades. I know my mom always confided in Jane, and they would spend hours talking and laughing. I will always be grateful that my mom had your mother as a best friend.
Your mother passed along her caring and loving traits to her kids. Our families seemed intertwined, with your mother and her daughters Sally or Betsy babysitting us kids ( I think Carol probably said “No Way”!!!), to the times when some of us would go on family vacations together. We had such fun playing in the backyards of each other’s homes.
Your mother always seemed wise beyond her years to me and I can remember her telling me to come in or more often than not she would say “Tommy Pat, go home”. She was a wonderful presence in all of our childhoods, and she will be missed.
My deepest sympathy,
Tom Robbins

Dear Kidwell Family,
I have very fond memories of your Mom in our childhood years growing up in Libertyville. Who can forget all the friends and young ones who came in and out of your home on a daily basis. Your Mom constantly cooking for everyone. I remember the many loaves of bread she would bake. If you were one of the lucky ones she would give you one of those smaller loaves! How good that tasted and smelled just coming out of the oven. I remember her hearty laugh as everyone congregated around the dining room table with her wonderful smelling coffee. Your Mom was a great support to our own mother in those early years. She was an influential figure in my childhood. I will always have a place for her in my heart.
With sincere sympathy,
Donna
