Michele Agnes Marie Gau-Perkowski passed away on the morning of October 29th, 2015, peacefully after a three year battle with cancer; while surrounded by her mother, son, and sisters. She was 52 years old. Michele was born in Edmonton, Alberta on January 22nd 1963. She was the second of three daughters and one son born to Fred and Norma Gau.
She had a truly artistic nature, an independent spirit, and was very driven in her pursuits. An entrepreneur, she owned and ran her own video production company for over 25 years. She was known for her work in St. Joe’s Christmas recitals, Street Scenes, and the Illinois Senior Pageant. She always put her family first and was guided by her devout spiritual beliefs. She will be remembered as the constant champion of the underdog and a lover of nature.
Michele is preceded in death by her brother Mark Gau, cousin Matthew Gau, nephew Joseph Green, and grandparents Leander and Hilda Gau and Albert and Catherine Vinet.
Michele is survived by her husband Michael Perkowski, son Sean Gau and wife Nicole Gau, step-son Matthew Perkowski, parents Fred and Norma Gau, sisters Cathy Gorski and Renee Tam, brothers-in-law Phil Gorski and Bryan Tam, nieces Ellen Gorski and Lyann Tam, and nephews Leander Gorski and Alex Tam.
Visitation for Michele will be Tuesday, November 3rd from 4pm-8pm at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place (Rt 176, 1 Block East of Milwaukee Ave) Libertyville. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, November 4th at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville. All are welcome who wish to join.
