Obituary of Inez Petersen

Inez Petersen, 78, of Vernon Hills, passed away Wednesday Sept 16, 2015 at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville. She was born April 7, 1937 in Ogden, Iowa and had been a resident of Lake County, IL for more than 50 years. Inez was an enthusiastic Guidance Counselor for the College of Lake County and many surrounding high schools working into her 70’s. She had great intellect and problem solving capability which was also a great guidance to her children and grandchildren. She is remembered for her energy and love of travel having recently returned from Turkey and Hawaii. Inez was also fond of dancing and would frequently travel to different competitions. Her greatest passion was her children and grandchildren and loved being with them. Inez is preceded in death by her husband Albert “Bud” whom she met in a swimming pool while in high school and were a wonderful couple ever since. She is survived by her loving children Debra Wolff, Sheri Vierke and Kathy (Garth) Meldrum; her adoring grandchildren Nathan and Chloe Vierke and Samantha, Siena, Zachary Meldrum. Funeral Service for Inez will be held at 11 am Wednesday September 23rd at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl (Rt 176, 1 Blk East of Milwaukee Ave) Libertyville. Interment to follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
