Obituary of Mary Lou Diebold

Mary Lou Diebold, 60, of Fremont Center was called home to God’s house to join her parents Ralph and Virginia (nee Frederick) Diebold after a hard two year battle with cancer. She passed away quietly Oct. 17, 2014 at home with family and friends around her. Mary Lou was a lifelong resident of Fremont Center where she was a member of St. Mary’s parish and was active with the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a long time member and director of the Lake County Farm Bureau. Mary Lou was presently employed by St. Mary of the Lake Seminary where she had many close friends. She enjoyed working on the farm, helping her brother milk cows, stacking hay bales in hot summer afternoons or like her mother, walking the cows to and from pastures when needed. She is survived by her loving partner and friend Patrick Flanigan; her sisters Darlene (Frank)Dorfler, Judy (George) White, her brother George (Jeanne Steinbach) Diebold and four nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday Oct. 24 from 4 – 8 pm in the narthex of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church 22333 W. Erhart Rd, Fremont Center where Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Sat. Oct. 25. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
