Obituary of Laura McCarthy

Laura E McCarthy, nee Boilini, 91, of Vernon Hills passed away April 27, 2014 at Advocate Condell Medical Center. Laura was a lifelong North Shore resident; she was born and raised in Highland Park with her five siblings to the late Louis and Mary Boilini. She later moved to Vernon Hills where she called home for the past 32 years and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Laura is lovingly remembered for her famous cooking, she was rarely seen without a delicious freshly prepared plate for friends and family. She was a great story teller, a wonderful caretaker to all and will be dearly missed. Laura is survived by her children William McCarthy, Laura McCarthy and Mary (Tim) Williamson; her sisters Madeline "Lena" Peschman and Ida Santi; her sisters-in-law Mary Esdale and Catherine Boilini; and her prized nieces and nephews. Laura is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years of marriage Merle McCarthy; grandson Baby Michael Williamson; sister Mary Ugolini and brothers John Lenzini and Henry Boilini. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday May 1, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass at the Church. Interment Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
