I was so saddened to see Connie's obituary in the Daily Herald this morning. She was one of my very special friends at Libertyville High School. We shared our love of music, horses, and humor for those high school years. I remember the horrible sacrifice of a ukelele when Connie impulsively smashed a spider with it! One Saturday when Connie's father was driving a station wagon full of Connie and me and her brothers and sisters into Chicago for the day, two of her siblings were vigerously arguing over something. Connie's dad calmly solved the conflict, "Connie, please find out what they're fighting about and take it away!" It's sad when someone as creative and warm as Connie dies as young as she has. She really loved her parents and siblings, and was fortunate to have a wonderful family.
