Obituary of John Vanhoozer

John William Vanhoozer 86 of Libertyville passed away on Jan. 15, 2014 following more than a year of home hospice care. John had served for more than four years as a hospital corpsman with the US Navy including a short stint in China. He was born in Giles Co. TN and graduated from the University of Florida's School of Pharmacy.
He is survived by his beloved wife Bonnie (nee Tower) Vanhoozer of 64 years of marriage; his loving son Kevin (Sylvie) Vanhoozer; he was the proud grandfather of Mary (Joshua) Rodriguez and Emma Vanhoozer; and the dearest uncle of Toni (nee Smith) Teubert and Deanna LePere (nee Smith).
John was preceded in death by his parents John and Zeda; his brother Thomas and his sister Elizabeth.
Funeral services will be 12 noon Tues. Jan 21 at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville (Rt 176, 1 Block East of Milwaukee Ave.), where there will be a visitation from 10 am until the time of service. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
