Obituary of Virginia Barron

Virginia “Ginny” L. Barron, 74, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025. Born and raised in Libertyville, she was a graduate of Libertyville High School's class of 1968. Ginny was deeply devoted to her family, maintaining close relationships with her siblings throughout her life. This was beautifully illustrated by her decision to live close to her sister, Patty, where they shared a backyard and their lives. Above all, Ginny cherished her grandchildren and found immense joy in showering them with love and handmade gifts, from cozy quilts to festive ornaments. Holidays were a special time for Ginny, as she delighted in family gatherings and the opportunity to share her warmth and love. Her loving spirit and joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Virginia is survived by her children Patrick Summers, Suzanne (Michael) Grund and Raymond (Lisa) Greenhill; her grandchildren Evan and Eryn Summers; Michael Jr., Benjamin and Katelyn Grund; and Alexa, Kayla and Olivia Greenhill; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Evelyn Barron and her siblings Patricia, Tom, James, Robert and Kay.

Visitation for Virginia will be held from 12:00 noon to 3:30 PM on Monday January 20th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville where there will be funeral service at 3:30 PM. Interment will be held at a later date at Ascension Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her family.
