Dolores Oleksinski, a Beloved Matriarch, Passes Away at 95

Libertyville, IL – Dolores “Dolly” Victoria Oleksinski (née Pasek), a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on November 7, 2024, at the age of 95.

Born on October 2, 1929, in North Chicago, Illinois, Dolores lived a long and fulfilling life. She was known for her kind heart, infectious laughter, sense of humor and strong faith. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Pasek. She was a devoted wife to John to whom she was married for nearly 75 years and a loving mother to Jack, Marilynn, Mike and Jeffrey. She is preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Pasek, and sister, Shirley Braswell. “Dolly” was a beloved member of her husband’s side of the family, the Motskos, who embraced her as one of their own.

Dolores was passionate about caring for her husband, John, nurturing her children, watching tennis, traveling domestically and internationally, shopping (especially collecting coupons and ferreting out the great deals), keeping up with the latest computer and software technology, playing Rummy Cube and Mexican Train, doing crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy, and following the Chicago Cubs. She was a talented cook (particularly Polish food), an amateur artist and provided amazing technical support to her friends. Dolores was the go-to person at the Green Oaks Senior Living Apartments for help with anything from a non-functioning TV remote control to Wifi to fixing a printer. She was also a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Libertyville, IL. She was a graduate of Holy Rosary Grade School in North Chicago, IL and Waukegan Township High School in Waukegan, IL and subsequently flexed her academic muscles with advanced college courses at Lake County Community College. She was a long-time employee of Illinois Bell Telephone Company (25 years) and, later in life, an educational curriculum designer at Kemper Insurance in Long Grove, IL where she was several times awarded employee of the month. She also dabbled in real estate briefly pursuing a career as a real-estate agent.  Dolores’ community-minded pursuits included volunteering at local art leagues and hospitals. Dolores was amazing at English grammar, spelling and diagramming sentences which was a great support to her children’s educational pursuits.

Dolores is survived by her husband, John Oleksinski; her children, Jack Oleksinski, Marilynn Oleksinski, Mike Oleksinski and Jeffrey Oleksinski; her daughters-in-law, Teresa Nuno and Modesta Oleksinski; her grandchildren Carmen Oleksinski (Nathan Langdon), Johnathan Oleksinski, Anna Oleksinski, Alexandrea Rodriguez (Caleb Malik), Emma Oleksinski and Orson Oleksinski; and her great grandchildren, Parker Julia Malik and Theo Langdon.
