Obituary of Carmencita Castro
Carmen Castro, 80, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, and a dear friend. She was born on October 5, 1943, in the Philippines and lived in Illinois until she retired and relocated to Las Vegas with her husband. She enjoyed the simple life at home with the hobby of gardening, spending time with her family, and traveling to many parts of the world with her husband. In addition to her leisure, she loved to express herself through fashion with stylish clothes, hats, and purses.
Carmen is survived by her husband, Jose Castro, her brother, Gene (Adel) Galang, her sons and daughters; Eric (Edmely) Castro, Lem (Jenny) Castro, Mignon Duran, Carrie Greenberg, Jairus (Reiko) Castro, Ingrid Castro, and her grandchildren; Nicole Duran, Noah Greenberg, Ryan Greenberg, Sami Greenberg, Joe Lem Castro, Liam Castro, Erika Castro, her great-grandchildren; Aiden Donnelly, Chloe Donnelly, and Kylie Duran.
She is preceded in death by her grandson, Jeff Duran.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1 at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, in Libertyville. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 2 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple Avenue, Libertyville. For more information, please call (847) 362-2626
