Obituary of Patricia Rose Wells
Patricia Rose Wells (née Lambert) 94, died unexpectedly at home in Ingleside, IL with her daughter, Kathleen by her side on April 20, 2024. She was born on November 13, 1929 in Chicago Illinois. She graduated from Immaculata High School and eventually moved to Libertyville. She was a former long-time member of St. Joseph’s Parish and current member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish in Ingleside.
Patricia and John were married on June 12, 1948 at St Joseph’s Church in Libertyville and were happily married for 68 years. Their 6 children were born and raised in Libertyville. While living there, she worked at Cook Memorial Library which she enjoyed for many years. Her first and foremost loves of her life were her children, grandchildren and family. She dedicated her life to them. Patricia truly had a love of music and enjoyed dancing. Her hobbies included ceramics, flowers and playing games, especially Rummikub.
Patricia and John moved to Arlington Texas in 1979. While there she was a member of the Suburban Club and became President. She made many lifelong friends while living there.
They then returned to Mundelein in 1989 for ten years before finally retiring to Punta Gorda, Florida in 1999. In 2004 Hurricane Charley literally blew their world apart. Thankfully our brother Tom was there to protect them; they lost everything! Left with the decision on where to move, they decided to move to Illinois to be near family. They moved to Ingleside and resided there for the past 20 years.
Patricia is survived by her children, Thomas (Tommy) (Deborah), Patty (Jeff) Johnsen, Jane (Shawn) Oakley, Kathleen (John) Van Dien, Jennifer (Craig) Luedtke, and daughter-in-law, Tina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicol Dominic and Mary Lambert, her husband John, her youngest son Thomas Scott, brother John Lambert, sister Kathleen Ponzo O’Neill, grandsons Matthew and Ryan Elliott, and many other family members and close friends.
Patricia was a proud Grandma to 17, Great Grandma (GG) to 28, and Great Great Grandma to 4.
One of our mom’s favorite days was the Kentucky Derby. We will be celebrating this day with her. Feel free to celebrate by wearing a hat with us.
