Obituary of Robert Brightfelt

Robert Brightfelt, 81, passed away peacefully on  April 10, 2024 at his home in Lake Forest.

Bob was born in Erie, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a BS in mechanical engineering. He served four years as an officer and aeronautical engineer in the Air Force. He was a graduate of the Executive Management Program at Dartmouth University and the University of Virginia. Bob was employed for 29 years at the DuPont company where he held several executive positions. He was a founder and member of the Board at Dade Behring, a global clinical diagnostics company. He held positions of Vice President and Group President.

Bob was a trustee at the University of Nebraska and a member of the Chicago Architecture Foundation Auxiliary Board.

Outside his professional life, Bob enjoyed traveling the world with his wife, Joell. He is survived by his wife Joell, brother William, and nephew Kyle.
