Tim had accomplishments almost too numerous to count. He was a proud graduate of Libertyville High School, to a standing ovation from his classmates. He worked for over 30 years in the food service industry (he sure knew his way around a kitchen!), from Chef Karl’s in Libertyville to Wingspread in Racine. He earned a black belt in JuJitsu. He travelled the world with his family, seeing his mother’s birthplace in Ireland. His sense of humor was legendary, always having a one-liner perfect for the situation. He was a proud member of the crew of TARDIS, sailing for pleasure and racing as part of the team. He loved to ballroom dance, probably because of all the beautiful ladies he could dance with! He learned to play golf and played in many Special Olympics outings. He never met a meal he didn’t like (especially dessert), and he always had a “complement to the chef”.
Most importantly, he never met a person he didn’t like, and never left that person without touching their heart. They became his friends, and were better for it. His happiness was contagious, he made you smile and laugh, and he always thanked people for the kindness they showed him.
A special thanks for the caregivers at the Laurel of Vernon Hills Memory Care, and Suncrest Hospice, for their compassion and friendship which sustained Tim in his final journey with Alzheimers. Donations in Tim’s name can be made to Special Olympics or the Down Syndrome Association.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Friday June 22nd from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Lambs Farm, 14245 Rockland Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048
