Obituary of Doris Caron-Schultz

Please share a memory of Doris to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Doris Caron-Schultz, age 92, of Libertyville, peacefully departed on January 4, 2024. The daughter of Aldee and Rosealma Caron, Doris grew up in Michigan and graduated from Plymouth High School. After high school, she worked for Bell Telephone Company and then married Jim Schultz and they started their family.

Family was the core of Doris' life.  Her role as a full-time mom/homemaker was one that she took very seriously. Her home was full of family, love, laughter, and great meals. Her keen eye for interior design and exceptional organizational skills allowed her to keep a beautiful, welcoming and relaxed home. If anyone in the family had a project that needed to be done, big or small, she would always "roll up her sleeves" and help.  She was a Girl Scout leader, a hockey mom, and an all-around cheerleader for her children.  As her children grew up, she was thrilled to become a grandma.  She celebrated and marveled at each of their accomplishments. This year, after the Covid lockdown, she was overjoyed to finally meet her only great-grandson.  At the time of her passing, she was eagerly awaiting the birth of her great-granddaughter later this month.  After raising her children, Doris enrolled in college and became a realtor.  In her spare time, she enjoyed giving of her time fundraising for a hospice organization, feeding newborns at a hospital, knitting hats for newborns and creating quilts for veterans.

Doris will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.  She will be remembered for her kind and generous nature, her great sense of humor, her infectious laugh, and her beautiful smile. Animals were also one of Doris' passions. In addition to her own pets, Doris never met a dog that didn't like her, and she liked every dog that she met. Her kindness and compassion were a gift to everyone in her life.

Doris is survived by her children Mike, Debbie (spouse Gary),Trish (spouse Stan Kaczor), her cherished grandchildren Kasey (great-grandson Connor), Christopher, Nika (fiancĂ© Martin), Josh (spouse Jamie), Henry and Andrew.  She is also survived by her former spouse Jim Schultz and her best friend since 3rd grade, Norma LaFramboise and her family. She is preceded in death by her sister Louella Clark.
