I have always carried a special place in my heart for Pete. As young children, we were together a large amount of time- our dads were brothers and our families lived fairly close to one another so we became very close. We were only 6 months apart and my mom said we would 'talk' to one another when we were babies and supposed to be napping on grandma's or another bed surrounded by coats so we didn't roll off. I remember our mothers taking us to the zoo by bus (since neither could drive) along with our brothers Steve & Mike; trips to the lake with Grandma, aunts, uncles & cousins; camping trips with our dads and aunt and cousins to Wisconsin; brushing 5 inches of snow off the bleachers at Wrigley to watch a Bear's game (of course I think we were more interested in the hot chocolate at the time!); listening to Aunt Loretta's 'Alvin & The Chipmunks' Christmas album so many times I think we wore new grooves in the record; looking at Pete's collection of model monsters (not cars) like Dracula & Frankenstein; playing volleyball at Aunt Irene's & Uncle Ray's with our cousins, and so many other wonderful memories. Sadly, my parents moved away to Kansas City when I was 8 years old- I remember Pete & I crying so hard at Grandma's when we told each other good bye. As time passed, we both grew up, married and had kids and though we did not see or talk to each other but rarely, I think that special bond we had when we were little was still there. I loved the way he laughed at the things his mom, my aunt Jane, would say; his obvious love for his wife Janelle and their kids, and his wonderful, kind- hearted nature. I will always have him and wonderful memories close in my heart.

A: Pete and I played football together at ISU. We were both offensive linemen. He never sought to be the center of attention; he was humble, was a hard worker, a great teammate, and had a good sense of humor.
