Obituary of Joan Cecconi

Cecconi, Joan, formerly of Lake Villa, IL died Saturday September 28 at Brentwood Nursing Home in Deerfield. Joan was born and raised in Chicago and attended Notre Dame High School. She married her husband George in 1949 and moved to Lake Villa in 1952 where they raised their three daughters. George worked for Commonwealth Edison for 35 years and passed away in 1984. Joan devoted 20 years to the College of Lake County as their recruiter. Joan loved traveling and was active in many sports especially walking and cross country skiing. She was a dear friend to many and will be greatly missed. Joan is survived by her three daughters Karen (Tony) Farina of Fallbrook, CA, Rita (Jack) Imlah of Deerfield, IL, and Eileen (the late Michael) Halen of Stagecoach, NV; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and her sister Marian Masella of Chicago. Funeral Mass for Joan will be held Wednesday October 2, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville. Visitation will be held Tuesday Oct 1 from 4:00-8:00 PM and Wed 9:15-9:45 AM at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville (Rt 176, one block East of Milwaukee Ave). Interment following at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Midwest Hospice, 2050 Claire Ct, Glenview, IL 60025, would be greatly appreciated.
