Obituary of Delaney O'Leary

Delaney (Laney) O’Leary, 10, of Grayslake, passed away February 27, 2023 after a courageous lifelong battle with a rare disease known as A-T. Laney touched many lives during her brief time here on earth, and her loving, spunky spirit will be remembered long after her passing. Delaney was a student at Meadowview Elementary and was a friend to all. She loved the summers when she could go swimming and always anticipated the fireworks around her birthday. She was happiest when playing Roblox with her sister and friends. Her family will always strive to honor her memory.

Delaney is survived by her ever-loving parents Chris and Sarah; her sister Mallory; her grandparents Karen O’Leary and John & Barbara Bettasso; her aunts and uncles Steve O’Leary, Margaret Christensen, John Bettasso and Amy Bettasso and many cousins.

A visitation will be held at McMurrough Funeral Chapel on Thursday, March 9, from 4-8 p.m. at 101 Park Pl, Libertyville. Her celebration of life will be Friday, March 10th at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Church, 121 E Maple Ave. Libertyville.
